"A reader contacted us with a deeply disturbing story. Her grandson – unvaccinated but waiting for the newly-approved Novavax – was hit in the face playing cricket. But when he and his worried parents went to their local country GP, the doctor refused to even examine him, simply because he was unvaccinated. In the end, they went a considerable distance, taking some hours, to the nearest hospital emergency department, where he was found to have a fractured eye socket and possible eye damage. It’s one thing to be pro-Covid vaccination (as I very much am), but it’s another to defy and deny one’s Hippocratic oath to use a person’s vaccination status to refuse urgent treatment to an injured fellow man in great need. What is our society coming to?"
